Under general supervision manages and maintains space inventory, implement space planning when requested.

Essential Duties Summary

• Location Management/Space Planner serves as the lead consultant to the institution related to the generation and evaluation of space allocation proposals.
• To perform some related tasks; i.e., develop scope of work, manage project budget/cost, solicit bids, quotes, evaluate vendors and contractors to perform campus facilities activities as a Project Manager.
• Function in the capacity as a Project Coordinator when needed in project design meetings, evaluate potential problems and technical hitches to develop solutions
• Conducts short and long-range space planning and analysis for the university, which includes monitoring the utilization of, and needs for all space on campus.
• Plans and organizes the activities of personnel engaged in facilities space planning for all departments and ensures that procedures and other operations are consistent with current university policy and state requirements.
• Space Planner plan and administer the entire space planning function including full budgetary and policy development responsibilities.
• Develops long-range plans for facilities projects, schedules work projects, monitors work in progress, and inspects finished projects.
• Develops, establishes, and controls the methods, procedures, and systems to increase overall effectiveness of facilities utilization and management.
• Prepares complex and technical statistical analyses, reports, and surveys related to space.
• Work with the campus Compliance Office and the Texas Higher Education Coordination Board, to ensure accurate space planning and utilization
• Provides information and consultation on costs of planned projects and budgetary planning related to space planning to deans, department heads, and directors.
• Communicates with senior administrative officers and management, operations work groups, and campus committees, in the role of consultant in support and achievement of pre-planning and space allocation goals and assigned projects.
• Develops, implements, and maintains a comprehensive facilities management computer system.
• Reviews facilities information data and other reports to ensure that each original project involving space planning is implemented.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.



Hiring Range $55,513.00 - $69,392.00 Education

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Engineering, Architect or related field.

Required Licensing/Certification

Valid Texas Driver’s License preferred.

Five (5) years of facilities space management experience, including two (2) years’ supervisory experience.
