UHP OB/GYN Medical Director

Reports to: Chief Medical Officer (CMO), UHP. Works closely with Vice President of Operations (VPO) and operational team, UHP.
The Medical Director provides leadership and supervision to the Department of OB/GYN and is accountable to assist the UHP leadership team in fulfilling the operational, clinical, and educational service missions of the organization. They are responsible for the development and maintenance of a culture of collegiality and collaboration, clinical excellence, professionalism, and fiscal responsibility. The Medical Director will demonstrate the highest level of personal and professional commitment, enthusiasm, and integrity. They will align the vision for the OB/GYN department with the values of the WVU Medicine East campus through personal and institutional commitment and strive to achieve excellence in all aspects of the OB/GYN clinic operations.
Role:
The Medical Director will assist in the oversight of the clinical enterprise/operations and administration of the OB/GYN department at UHP.
In collaboration with the leadership team, the Medical Director assists in overseeing quality of patient care, evidence based care and for operations (call coverage; productivity; clinical processes, policies and flow; provider conduct including peer review and upholding educational responsibilities) in the OB/GYN clinics. The operation of the OB/GYN clinics is critical for the success of the WVU Medicine East campus. As such, the Medical Director will work with UHP/UHA, university and hospital leadership. The OB/GYN clinics should be recognized as leaders in clinical care and should work collaboratively with other departments. The Medical Director will work closely with the Medical Directors of Family Medicine, Surgical and Medical Specialties and other service lines and meet regularly with the Surgical Specialties Administrator and Business Manager, and VPO and operational team. The Medical Director shall provide the CMO with regular updates and quarterly updates to the Eastern Campus Dean.
Required Qualifications:
• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine with an unrestricted medical license
• Qualification as a member of the BMC and/or JMC medical staff and a board-certified physician in OB/GYN.
• Outstanding clinical abilities
• Strong track record of leadership at an academic medical center or similar environment, and a demonstrated portfolio of professional successes.
• Proven ability to develop and execute short and long-term strategic initiatives.
• Strong ability to work collaboratively with leaders of various entities in the advancement of clinical operations.
