Description
The Department of Early Childhood, Youth, and Family Studies has a full time, on-campus Assistant Lecturer position available August 2021. Primary duties include teaching undergraduate students in one or more of the following areas; early childhood curriculum, family and community relations, youth work, grant writing and research methods, family stress and crisis, and other content areas related to children. The standard assigned teaching load is 12 semester hours (typically four courses, primarily taught face-to-face). Responsibilities also include service to the department, college, and university; and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
A master’s degree in human development and family studies, child development, early childhood education, adult education/executive development and public service, or closely related field from an accredited institution by date of appointment.
Authorization to work in the US
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
A record of successful teaching content related to families and children; experience in one or more of the following: working in an agency that serves children and families, certification as a child life specialist, classroom experience in early childhood settings, or holds or has held an early childhood or elementary teaching license. Effective oral and written communication skills.
