Lecturer of Geography

Department Geography and Anthropology

 

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, non-tenure track Lecturer of Geography position in the Department of Geography and Anthropology to begin August 2021.

 

The Department of Geography and Anthropology at Kennesaw State University is accepting applications for a Lecturer of Geography to teach undergraduate general education courses in physical geography including Weather and Climate and Introduction to Landforms as well as program electives like Introduction to GIS.

 

Excellence in teaching and engagement is expected of all faculty members in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at KSU. Faculty in the Department teach in a variety of modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online.

 

A Master's, PhD or other terminal degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Geography or a closely related field is required. Candidates with a minimum of 18 graduate level credit hours in Geography along with relevant professional experience will also be considered.

 

Preferred qualifications include:

 

  • An earned doctoral degree in Geography or a closely related field
  • Evidence of teaching and working with a culturally and ethnically diverse community
  • Experience teaching on-line or hybrid courses for online or hybrid sections
  • Ability to teach introductory level geospatial science courses including Introduction to GIS.
