Principal Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, or Lecturer in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering

The Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering (FSE) at Arizona State University (ASU) and the School for Engineering of Matter, Transport and Energy (SEMTE) seeks outstanding candidates for an appointment made at the rank of Principal Lecturer, Senior Lecturer or Lecturer commensurate with the candidate's experience and accomplishments, beginning August 16, 2021. Job responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in mechanical and aerospace engineering, developing innovative curriculum for both face-to-face and online courses, mentoring student design and research projects, and providing service to the college, institution, profession, and community. This is a non-tenure-track position that will be renewed annually based on satisfactory performance.

Required qualifications:
• Ph.D. or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering and/or a related field by the time of appointment

Desired qualifications:
• Technical expertise in one or more of the following areas: design, manufacturing, structures, fluids, computational methods, project management, and/or solid mechanics
• Openness to design and delivery of online courses
• Evidence of teaching excellence as appropriate to the candidate's rank

SEMTE is composed of multiple programs in Mechanical and Aerospace, Chemical, and Materials Science and Engineering. We offer rigorous undergraduate and graduate degree programs in a variety of engineering fields. In addition, we partner with other schools in the university for interdisciplinary programming. SEMTE's award-winning faculty members are recognized for masterful teaching by the university. We welcome individuals who wish to build the future of education within the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering, one of the largest and most innovative research and engineering preparation colleges in the nation. The college is a recognized leader in engineering education and is designing new programs and course options to meet the needs of industry and new markets.
