The Department of Biology at Schreiner University invites applications for a tenure track position as Assistant Professor of Biology to begin August 2021. We seek an individual with a strong commitment to undergraduate education. Primary responsibilities include teaching courses at all levels of the biology curriculum, including introductory biology courses with lab components, and upper-level courses in the applicant’s area of interest that complement existing departmental expertise. Highly desirable candidates will be able to develop and teach an animal nutrition course. The successful candidate is expected to establish and maintain a productive scholarship program that provides opportunities for undergraduate student research compatible with resources available at a primarily undergraduate institution. Typical duties for the position include teaching 12 hours per semester; service to the university through committee work, serving in positions of leadership, and/or sponsorship of student organizations; staying active in the pursuit of scholarly activity; and advising students both in pursuit of their degrees and in future career options.
Qualifications: An earned doctorate in Biology (or related field) or ABD with completion no later than August 2021. Teaching experience is preferred.
