The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at West Virginia University is expanding its established midwifery services and is actively recruiting a Certified Nurse Midwife that will rotate practice at our clinical sites in Pennsylvania to include Waynesburg and Uniontown and West Virginia locations in Morgantown and Reedsville. Our midwives collaboratively practice with Faculty OB Generalists, Uro-Gynecologists, and High Risk Obstetricians, allowing complete care for midwifery patients. OB and Off-Service (Family Medicine, ER, and Anesthesia) Resident teaching, in both clinical setting and lecture format are an important component of the job. Medical and Nursing student teaching as well as Advanced Practice Nurse preceptorship add to this challenging position.

The Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center at West Virginia University is one of only 20 nationally designated Centers of Excellence in Women’s Health, providing comprehensive health care to the women of West Virginia. Approximately 1,400 births per year take place at our tertiary care OB-Gyn facility with all services covered from high risk, cutting edge research to low-tech, high-touch births in LDRPs.
