Position Function:

Faculty member in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering conducting education, research, and service programs.
Areas of particular focus of this search include:

Wireless communications (included but not limited to millimeter-wave (mmWave), microwave, terahertz (THz), radio frequency (RF), free space optical, transmitter/receiver designs, and antennae.)
Candidates at the rank of associate or full professor may also be considered for the Paul B. Jacob Chair. Exceptional candidates in areas closely augmenting wireless communications systems will also be considered, such as cyber-physical systems, embedded systems, robotics, security, and edge intelligence.

Department Profile:

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Mississippi State University consists of 23 faculty members (including 7 endowed professors), 3 clinical faculty, 10 professional and support staff, and over 700 undergraduate and graduate students with approximately 88 being at the Ph.D. level. With research expenditure of the department in excess of $10M, the department houses the largest High Voltage Laboratory among North American Universities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Research: performs and publishes research in the areas of interest and advances state of the art; obtains research grants/contracts with federal government and private industry; keeps other faculty members and students informed of advances in the areas of interest.
Teaching: teaches courses in the areas of interest at the undergraduate and graduate level; advises undergraduate students; guides graduate students in thesis and dissertations in the areas of interest.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates for the position are expected to hold a Ph.D. in electrical engineering or computer engineering or closely related field (ABDs may be considered but only for the rank of Assistant Professor.) Rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Recent graduates with exceptional academic credentials are encouraged to apply. However, preference will be given to individuals with a record of teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and research experience, a substantial record of peer-reviewed publications, and demonstrated ability to secure external funding.
