Assistant Professor of Education (Elementary Education
Focus)
The Education Department at The University of Tampa is seeking an Assistant Professor for a tenure track line in Curriculum and Instruction. The applicant should possess a specialization in elementary pedagogy and instructional methods (science, mathematics, social studies, literacy) and have evidence of a successful research agenda with relevant teaching experience. Start date is August 2021. Review of applications will commence on January 22, 2021.

Qualifications
Earned doctorate by August 2021 with specialization in Elementary
Education, K-6 STEM, or K-6 literacy. Three years minimum
successful K-6 classroom teaching experience in settings with
diverse student populations (more than 5 years relevant experience
preferred) and evidence of scholarly productivity.
Desired qualifications
- Evidence of successful teaching of elementary instructional methods courses at the college level
- Clinical education training for supervision
- ESOL credentials
- Experience in university-school-community partnerships
- Competence in the integration of educational technologies
Responsibilities include
- Teaching courses in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in elementary methods
- Supervising students in field-based settings
- Engaging in departmental committees
- Advising students
- Maintaining and fostering stakeholder connections
