Summary: The Department of Biology at Niagara University seeks a part-time instructor to teach the BIO212 Microbiology course for freshman nursing majors in the Spring of 2021.
Essential duties: Use the provided course syllabus to fulfill course objectives. Maintain class records and attendance. Responsible for planning and instruction in the classroom. Lecture materials will be provided but may be amended as you see fit to engage active learning. Exams and assignments will be coordinated with the other sections of the course to maintain continuity. Grade assignments and tests then return them to students in a timely fashion.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities: Thorough knowledge of the subject matter. Ability to plan and present instructional material in a clear, logical, and concise manner. Ability to use sound professional judgment and maintain proper teacher-student relationships.
Qualification Standards: A Master's degree in biology or a closely related discipline. Experience teaching at the college level preferred. Candidates should provide a curriculum vita, statement of teaching philosophy, and 2 letters of recommendation.
