The Department of Marine Engineering Technology (MARR) at Texas A&M University at Galveston invites applications for a full time tenure-track position with a 9 month academic appointment beginning September 1, 2021. Applicants will be considered for an Assistant Professor title to conduct high impact research and teaching (undergraduate courses, both face-to-face and online) in one or more of the following areas: Marine Pollution Control, Efficient Engines, Green and Sustainable Shipping and Marine Alternative Fuels. Knowledge of LNG operations is desirable. The candidate will be expected to teach some core courses such as Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer and Dynamics.

Successful candidate should have a clear plan to establish a vibrant research program, secure external research funding, and participate actively in advising, educating and teaching of undergraduate and graduate students. This person will also be expected to engage in internal (departmental and university) and external (professional) service and work with local industry to support the blue economy. Salary and research budget are competitive.
