Enterprise Applications Trainer I



Job Summary

The Enterprise Applications Trainer I plans, designs, develops, and delivers training and instructional programs, including support materials and user guides, to the campus community in support of strategic objectives and ongoing operations.

Job Description

Typical duties may include but are not limited to:

•Plans, designs, develops, and delivers training and instructional programs using instructor-led, train-the trainer, electronic/web-based, and/or multimedia training methods and formats.

•Develops training materials to include training handbooks, job aids, models, computer and web-based tutorials.

•Collaborates with appropriate personnel to determine needs for training/support materials (user guides, instructional communication) and produces such materials

•Provides consulting in all aspects related to training for organization-wide initiatives and projects.

•Remains current on enterprise application changes and updates training materials and technical documentation to reflect changes.

•Creates and updates security awareness campaigns for faculty, staff, and students. Facilitates end-user IT security awareness training.

•Administers training programs in accordance with business needs, regulatory requirements, and University regulations.

•Develops new techniques and procedures to enhance university enterprise application training.

•Reviews progress, evaluates results, recommends new processes, and promotes best practices.

•Coordinates or performs administrative functions necessary to deliver and document training programs.

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in an area of appropriate specialization.

Two years of professional full-time experience conducting hands-on technical training, providing technical support or other relevant experience.

Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certified in Microsoft Office (MCSA or MOS).

Experience creating training curricula, including detailed user guides, for Enterprise Resource Planning systems

Experience utilizing virtual platforms – comparable to Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc. – for communication and training delivery.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of basic change management concepts as they relate to the implementation of new or updated applications.

Knowledge of and proficient in productivity tools for PCs and Mac, to include Microsoft Office and other common desktop applications.

Skilled in developing on-demand training using tools similar to Camtasia or Captivate.

Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively in a team environment.

Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups.

Ability to design, develop, implement, and evaluate training plans, curricula, and methodology.

Ability to take initiative to plan, organize, coordinate and perform work in various situations when numerous and diverse demands are involved.

Ability to collaborate and work effectively within a diverse community and willing to contribute to a team effort.

Ability to manage and coordinate assignments to meet deadlines.

Ability to work independently to complete assignments.

Ability to interpret educational needs and develop effective instructional media solutions.

Ability to communicate technical guidance and instructions to users on the use of computers and other applications and systems.
