Description

This position will support the Department of Neuroscience's efforts to enhance undergraduate education as part of the College of Natural Science's 21st Century Education Initiative. In addition to teaching two to three undergraduate neuroscience courses, the Neuroscience Education Fellow will foster expertise in inclusive teaching and learning among departmental faculty and provide direct support for course transformation in alignment with departmental goals.

The Neuroscience Education Fellow will be hired and supervised by the Department of Neuroscience, supported by the Texas Institute for Discovery Education in Science (TIDES), the College of Natural Sciences education-focused unit, and join a community of similar individuals in other CNS departments.

Qualifications

A PhD in neuroscience, or closely related discipline; experience teaching undergraduates; interest in teaching and facilitating change in higher education; a student-centered teaching philosophy; ability to collect and distill meaning from data to guide efforts; excellent interpersonal skills, such as written and oral communication, and the ability to influence and inform without direct authority; excellent organizational and time-management skills; ability to initiate projects and self-motivation.
