Position Summary
The HEB School of Business and Administration is seeking to fill a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor or associate professor to join the faculty of its CAHME-accredited Graduate Program in Health Administration. This is a full-time position with a ten-month academic year appointment starting in August 2021. The faculty member will have responsibilities that include teaching graduate health administration courses in both the residential and online Master of Health Administration programs and other assigned administrative responsibilities associated with the program. This position is considered a “Responsible Employee” under Title IX federal regulations and “Mandatory Reporter” under Texas state law and The UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy. These reporting responsibilities are set out in the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy.


Essential Functions
Position duties include teaching graduate health administration courses, which may include three of the following healthcare courses: marketing management, strategic planning, economics & insurance, quality & continuous improvement, managing healthcare organizations, and health policy;

Official duties and responsibilities of faculty members at UIW include teaching, scholarship, service, and professional activities. In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission.

Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.


Required Education
Doctorate in health services management, health administration research, or other related degree;
ABD candidates will be considered but if selected, must complete doctoral degree requirements prior to August 1, 2021.


Required Work Experience
Three (3) years graduate level teaching experience within a health administration program.


Preferred Qualifications
Health administration related work experience;
Online teaching experience;
Teaching experience related to at least three of the courses listed in the essential functions section above;
Master of Health Administration or Master of Business Administration;
Credentialed member of a health management related association.
