Under general supervision the Chair will be responsible for all administrative and academic functions of the Pharmacy Practices and Administration department.

Essential Duties Summary

• Assumes responsibility for all administrative and academic functions of the department.
• Works closely with the Office of Educational Effectiveness to assure appropriate design and delivery of PharmD outcomes.
• Works closely with the Office of Experiential Training to ensure appropriate clinical sites for faculty.
• Responsible for the implementation and oversight of continuous faculty development and all clinical faculty.
• Engages in teaching in the PharmD curriculum.
• Engages in clinical research that culminates in grant funding and publications in peer reviewed journals.
• Responsible for administration of PGY1, PGY2 and Fellowship programs.
• Serves on COPHS and University committees as assigned by the Dean.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Hiring Range Commensurate with experience. Education

Earned PharmD or BSPharm plus a doctorate degree. The successful applicant should be eligible for a tenure track appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor level. Pharmacy residency completion preferred.

Required Licensing/Certification

Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Texas.

Valid Texas Driver’s License.
