Position Overview:
Teaches, advises and mentors students, evaluates student performance, and maintains department and student records in accordance with university policies. Adheres to the educational philosophy of the university. Works in a collaborative manner with colleagues and professional peers. Participates in university meetings that relate specifically to faculty. Serves on department, college, and university committees as requested. Prepares departmental reports as requested. Engages in teaching, service, and scholarly and/or creative activities as defined by the tenure and promotion policy in the UCO Employee and Faculty Handbook. Faculty are expected to support & facilitate the department/school/college academic and university missions, visions, & long-term goals.

Department Specific Essential Job Functions:
Teaching graduate courses in Educational Leadership. Supervising interns and practicum students in a school.

Qualifications

Experience Required:

Teaching, research, departmental/school and university service is expected. An earned doctorate degree awarded by a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution in the field specified in the position announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval). **NOTE** If the doctorate is not obtained and submitted by the time of employment, the position rank will change to TT-Instructor.

Possesses a Master’s or Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership. ABD will be considered. Previous experience in school leadership. Possesses excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Experience Preferred:
Possess experience as a certified school administrator or related field. Possess higher education teaching experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Candidate must provide evidence of teaching effectiveness/excellence. Must be willing to teach in a variety of instructional formats (in-person, hybrid, and online) as needed and appropriate. Candidate must have a minimum of two years of school leadership experience and the ability to maintain ongoing professional certifications. Skill in team building; coaching; mentoring; supervision; delegation, problem-solving, and understanding equity and diversity. Additional priority for the position will be placed on applicants whose teaching and scholarship (a) informs school and district improvement; and (b) considers issues of K-12 budgeting and finance, law, education policy and/or related areas. Able to comply with the UCO Employee and Faculty Handbook.
