Purpose of Position

The Coordinator for University Development contributes to NKU’s fundraising success by facilitating the day-to-day operational support for the AVP of University Development. This position’s primary responsibilities include coordinating meeting logistics, purchasing, accounting, organizing travel, hiring oversight, equipment/supply inventory, data entry, event support, and donor stewardship activities.

Primary Responsibilities

Provide administrative support for AVP, VP and development team members as needed. Includes calendar management, printing, mailing, ordering catering, taking notes, travel coordination, office oversight, and acting as substitute ‘approver’ for workflow items.

Accounting and Budgetary responsibilities include managing/reconciling pro-card, employee reimbursements, paying invoices, account creation, deposits, new vendor set-up, annual inventory, and supply orders.

Coordinates personnel management activities on behalf of AVP this includes approving/verifying time, hiring process, onboarding activities, and updating all documentation regarding positions with NKU Human Resources.

Assists fundraisers and donor stewardship team with gift agreements/scholarship creation, events, mailings, and other activities in regards to thanking/stewarding donors.

Provides project oversight for donor related marketing materials like proposals, mailings and other promotional materials.
Documents and maintains quality records in databases; primarily Raiser’s Edge NXT and SAP system.

Coordinates appointments and materials used by senior staff, faculty, board members, and volunteers for meetings, events, and/or phone calls.

Provides training to staff within or outside of immediate department or division as needed.

Some weekend/evening work required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of related experience required
• Strong written communication skills to prepare and edit effective correspondence for individuals and groups
• Organizational perspective, ability to work in a fast paced environment, comfortable with change and associated ambiguity are valued competencies
• High attention to detail, experience managing multi-phase projects from inception to completion
• A working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required and knowledge of Raiser’s Edge is a plus
• Ability to problem solve and generate creative solutions
• Exceptional ethics and integrity, ability to be discrete and maintain confidentiality
• Must have passion for philanthropy, higher education, NKU, and the community that it serves
