DSHS EMT -Paramedic or Licensed Paramedic
Associate degree or higher in EMS or another field
3+ years work experience with a Fire-Based System and/or 911 EMS System
Minimum Knowledge & Skills
Current AHA Healthcare Provider
Current ITLS Provider ( AEMT or EMT -P)
Current AHA ACLS Provider ( EMT -P)
Preferred Knowledge & Skills
DSHS EMS Instructor (or willing to obtain)
Current (or willing to obtain) AHA BLS Instructor
Current (or willing to obtain) AHA ACLS Instructor ( EMT -P)
Current (or willing to obtain) ITLS Instructor ( AEMT or EMT -Paramedic)
Job Duties
- Ability to teach/supervise for appropriate level of training in classroom and a variety of clinical settings
- Possess a commitment to student engagement, student success and instructional excellence
- Possess the ability to work in a diverse work environment
- Demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and oral
- Willing and able to teach day, evening or weekend labs/clinical rotations
- Knowledge and skill in a variety of computer usage and software as required
- Possess good organizational and planning skills
- Assess and suggest appropriate learning experiences available to the student with program objectives
- Selection of patient care assignments for student in accordance with program objectives and student goals
- Foster and maintain regular communication with faculty regarding student progress according to program objectives
- Build positive and professional relationships with students, colleagues, clinical affiliates, college administration and the community
- Exhibit a commitment to lifelong learning through participation in professional development activities
- Adhere to College of the Mainland’s policies and procedures
- Attend institutional/departmental meetings as required
