Position Information
Vacancy Number: S-00525 Position Title: Parking Associate Classification Title: Program Associate Department: Campus Police Employment Type: Full-Time Duties and Responsibilities:
Write tickets and photograph parking violations.
Monitor parking meters and collect fees from parking meters.
Provide maintenance for parking meters and other parking system equipment.
Monitor all parking areas and conduct assessments each semester.
Create charts and forms using Excel and other programs.
Utilize/operate the campus camera system to monitor parking areas.
Gather documents associated with appeals related to parking.
Utilize the parking and registration system ( BOSSCARS ) to perform vehicle registration (adding vehicle/information, retrieving data, etc.).
Conduct group presentations related to vehicle registration and campus parking policies.
Research and recommend improvements to the parking and registration system.
Operate the campus parking and registration system.
Provide training for others who are approved to utilize the parking and registration system.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of basic word processing software and the ability to operate standard PC/PC software applications
Knowledge of security, traffic, and parking practices and procedures
Knowledge of general AUM conduct rules
Knowledge of assigned department forms, rules, etc.
Knowledge of record-keeping procedures
Ability to operate emergency equipment
Ability to identify suspicious or hazardous situations
Ability to administer CPR and first aid
Ability to recognize safety, security, or health hazards
Ability to document observations
Ability to communicate with faculty, staff, students, and the public
Ability to perform basic mathematical computations
Ability to review materials and identify discrepancies or mistakes (i.e., proofreading)
Ability to respond to several demands at one time
Ability to maintain records
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of general office experience. Specific program-related experience is desired. Education can be substituted for experience.
