Overview


Employment Status: Full-time, temporary, "exempt" position with the possibility of converting to permanent.

Work Schedule: Generally, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Some weekends and evenings may be required.
Anticipated Salary Range: $4,372.00 - $5,860.00 monthly.

Department Summary
Administrative Computing & Business Intelligence (ACBI) is a department of the Information Technology Services (ITS) division. ACBI develops, provides support for, and manages various campus enterprise software applications on a variety of hardware platforms. Support is provided for all CSUSB Administrative Systems.

Typical Activities
Under minimal supervision of the Chief Administrative Systems Officer, the incumbent will provide programming and systems support of all campus admissions offices and related departments such as orientation and Coyote First STEP.

Typical Activities include (not limited to):

  • PeopleSoft Admissions (AD) Module Support - Provide programming and systems support for all campus admissions offices and related departments (orientation, Coyote First STEP) that includes, but is not limited to: requirements collection/specification, systems analysis, programming, modification to existing applications, developing new applications, e-communications, and web and electronic form design and implementation.
  • Develop queries in PeopleSoft for the purpose of enrollment reporting/enrollment management and business intelligence.
  • Develop communications using PeopleSoft communications generation for undergraduate applicants, Coyote First STEP, and other departments as needed.
  • Cal State Apply/Liaison WebAdmit Administration & Support - Provide technical and functional support for Cal State Apply application system. Manage associated PeopleSoft interfaces, processes, and jobs (application downloading for all admissions offices, supplemental application information, new term/cycle setup) CIA implementer for Cal State Apply accounts.
  • Review system and campus processes and develop reports and interfaces as needed for PeopleSoft and Campus Management Radius CRM.
  • Develop process diagrams and workflow diagrams to document, define, and evaluate business processes based on business requirements and best practices, and map against administrative software functionality.
  • Develop specifications and review user requirements to ensure requirements are met and design user-friendly interfaces to systems, applications, processes, and databases. Design reporting formats and train or assist staff in running reports utilizing a variety of software tools and custom applications.
  • CRM (Campus Management Radius, Hobson's Connect/Retain) Administration and management. Administer CRM systems (currently Campus Management Radius) under the Office of Admissions and Student Recruitment). As the campus CIA implementer for campus CRM, manage and create roles and access permissions for ASR staff, manage data integration and ensure data integrity of the Radius Database, provide group and individual training, assistance, and support for staff using Radius, creating queries/filters and scheduled jobs, importing prospect and applicant data, along with managing and updating content for the public-facing pages and forms (application forms, inquiry forms, even registration forms). Work with vendor and account manager on technical support issues when necessary.
  • CRM Communications Management - Design and deploy email templates and communication plans. Plan, design, and execute communication campaigns on behalf of admissions offices and various other campus departments by request.
  • Monitor and maintain the Office of Admissions and Student Recruitment website (admissions.csusb.edu). This includes updating and creating new pages with directives from the AVP of Enrollment Management and the Director of Admissions, various program coordinators, and various communications committees.
  • Tasks also include creating microsites for various ASR events, and monitoring and improving ADA compliance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience

  • Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience programming and creating complex SQL queries (additional relevant experience may be substituted for academic work).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a University environment along with three (3) to five (5) years of experience in PeopleSoft/ People Tools environment with Application Designer, Data Mover, PS Query, SQR, People Code, Application Engine or related tools Oracle Database programming- PL/ SQL.
  • Experience in working with CRM systems.
  • Experience with imaging software.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of relational database design; and data warehouse concepts.
  • Ability to independently identify and solve complex production problems.
  • Ability to work with outside systems integration.
  • Clear, positive, solution-oriented communication skills to translate user needs into effective technical solutions.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU.
