The CSBMHP Research & Evaluation Associate will, under the supervision of the Director of the CSBMHP, plan and implement the CSBMHP’s research program including impact and outcome evaluations of key grant-related activities.  An important goal of the CSBMHP is to build collaborative relationships with schools and community agencies to address the mental health and school success of children and adolescents through the promotion of expanded school mental health programs and services. The intent is to promote the development and implementation of effective programs to enhance healthy psychological development of school-age students and reduce mental health barriers to learning.

 

Duties include and are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement evaluation measures, protocols, and procedures for CSBMHP grant projects.
  • Develop and maintain online data collection & data management systems using online survey tools and statistical analysis software packages, ensuring the protection of sensitive data.
  • Pilot test and utilize evaluation protocols and data collection instruments.
  • Facilitate human subjects’ data collection, including online surveys, phone interviews, focus groups, and on-site visits.
  • Code and analyze data for qualitative and quantitative analyses related to impact and outcome evaluations of grant-related activities.
  • Develop written and oral reports, publications, briefings, and presentations.
  • Supervise the CSBMHP’s graduate and undergraduate research assistants assigned to evaluation projects, ensuring that graduate and undergraduate students have holistic and comprehensive exposure to key research and evaluation skills related to applied school-based mental health projects.

 

In addition to the primary duties, the CSBMHP Research & Evaluation Associate may:

  • Conduct background research including literature reviews for evaluation reports, grants, and presentations.
  • Develop proposals for new grant-related research and evaluation projects.
  • Contribute to the growth, expertise, and institutional knowledge of other CSBMHP staff.

 

Required: Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, education, or related field. Demonstrated skills related to developing and conducting research and/or evaluation studies. Strong conceptual and analytical skills.  Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to work as a collegial, contributing member of a project team with other researchers, as well as work independently as needed.        

This position is available to persons who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time and indefinite basis. (Persons authorized to work on such a basis include US citizens, lawful permanent residents (“green card” holders), asylees, refugees, and temporary residents under IRCA.)

Consideration may be given to candidates with a master’s degree in psychology, sociology, education, or related field.  Previous experience in effectively managing research and evaluation projects; Previous experience in effectively managing grant-funded projects; experience in university settings, K-12 settings, and/or mental health/behavioral health settings.
