Job Summary/Basic Function

The Online Chair assists the Online Dean of the School of Music with academic operations, personnel management, and resourcing in the School of Music. This position implements and enforces university and department academic policies and procedures; oversees the development, implementation, assessment, and improvement of courses and degree programs; and manages online faculty in their various roles. The position requires the ability to communicate effectively in written and oral formats, the ability to travel both between locations on campus and to various off-campus conferences and events.

Minimum Qualifications

-Master’s degree in a discipline taught by the School of Music or a related field
-Excellent management and written/oral communication skills
-Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite

Preferred Qualifications

-Doctorate in a discipline taught by the School of Music or a related field
-3-5 years of professional experience in higher education administration
-Experience using Blackboard LMS
-Knowledge of assessment and accreditation processes
