About the Department of Industrial-Organizational Psychology:

Both the Master of Arts (MA) and Doctorate in Industrial-Organizational Psychology programs seek to develop scholars, professional practitioners, and leaders who will actively engage the community and businesses around them, improving organizations and developing people. We are committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. The curricula has been structured according to the guidelines for graduate training in industrial-organizational psychology published by the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP), a division of the American Psychological Association.


Job Description:

  • The Department of Industrial-Organizational Psychology at Seattle Pacific University invites applications for an 11-month, open rank tenure-track faculty position in the M.A. and Ph.D. programs, starting September 2021.
  • We seek a faculty member to teach master's and doctoral coursework with a focus in statistics and individual psychology (e.g., selection systems, performance management); to engage in research and scholarship; to supervise student research; to participate in broad service, and foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion. 
  • Teach doctoral and master's-level courses, establish and maintain an active research program, mentor and supervise students in research and practice activities, seek intramural and/or extramural research funding, and participate in service within the department, school, and University. 

Additional Information:

Salary and compensation commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is a full time position with excellent benefits. SPU pays the employee premium for medical, dental, and vision insurance. SPU makes contributions to an employee HSA account and to a retirement account after one year of eligibility in the plan. Tuition discount program available for the employee and qualified immediate family members.
