Overview
The Baldwin Wallace University (BW) community seeks confidential nominations and expressions of interest for the position of Vice President for Student Affairs (VPSA). The VPSA will lead the campus community to the next level of student-centered engagement and organizational and operational success. Under the experienced leadership of President Bob Helmer, the university has continued to embrace its historic commitment to diversity and inclusion as well as its student-centered focus. An independent comprehensive university, BW serves 3,400 students (2,861 undergraduates, 539 graduate/professional), offering bachelor's and master's degrees, certificates and professional education programs. Located twelve miles from Cleveland in Berea, Ohio, the 125-acre tree-lined campus is home to 225 full-time faculty, over 70 programs of undergraduate study, 24 NCAA Division III athletic programs, and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The VPSA is BW's Chief Student Affairs Officer. The Vice President reports directly to President Helmer and is a member of the President's Cabinet. The VPSA has nine direct reports, including the Dean of First-Year Students & Student Engagement; Directors of Athletics, Brain Center for Community Engagement, Career Services, Health Center, Recreational Sports & Services, and Residence Life & Student Conduct; the Associate Director of Orientation & Student Services Initiatives; and the Executive Assistant to the Vice President. With 100 total employees, the division of Student Affairs is committed, hard-working, and focused on student engagement and student success. The next VPSA will model and promote transparent decision-making, integrity, strong advocacy for students, and excellent communication skills.
