Job Description
The School of Nursing at The University of Texas at Tyler invites applicants to apply for a full-time, non-tenure-track, clinical instructor faculty position. The nursing program is offered year-round; faculty are given a 9-month academic appointment with the potential to work a bonus semester.
Essential Functions
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Primary teaching of on-site nursing courses, conducting clinical experiences for BSN students on the Longview campus.
- Assisting other classroom faculty as needed.
- Mentoring and advising students.
- Participating in College and University Service.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing, preferably in nursing education.
- Clinical experience nursing.
- Eligible for Texas licensure.
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN teaching experience.

Additional Information
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
