The Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Systems Integration and Cost Analysis. This position supports the Cost Analysis and Acquisition & Program Management programs through teaching, research, and professional service in AFIT’s Department of Systems Engineering and Management (https://www.afit.edu/ENV/). This is a Tenure track position: Academic tenure is based upon performance and approval of the faculty and may be considered after the initial or subsequent 3-year period.  

 

The Position:

As a faculty member supporting the Acquisition & Program Management and Cost Analysis programs, you will teach graduate level courses in the broad fields of management, cost analysis, and economics; direct, advise, and evaluate the research activities of master of science students; develop research topics suitable for thesis research covering a broad spectrum of Air Force or DoD problems; personally carry out a highly creative and significant, externally funded research program and disseminate results through journal publication and conference presentations; provide consultation services to the Air Force and other appropriate organizations in the area of specialization; participate in faculty governance/academic committees of the Institute and in activities of professional societies related to the activities of the department. 

 

The position requires a doctoral degree in economics, systems engineering, management or a related discipline.

 

U.S. Citizenship is required. This is a SECRET position. The selected candidate will be subject to a security investigation leading to successful completion of a background investigation. The selectee's failure to meet this requirement will be grounds for termination.
