Position Summary

This position oversees the direction, long-term planning and operations of all ITS projects. Coordinates ITS teams to ensure technology projects meet the needs of the business. Promotes technology awareness and creates an enterprise- level understanding of technology, and the value, scope and timelines associated with technology projects. Works with each ITS area for the successful delivery and implementation of all technology projects.

Essential Job Functions of Position

Responsible for the ITS Project Review activities to ensure that all projects and activities are properly captured and published for review college wide.

• Responsible for leading and directing multiple cross-functional projects of medium to high complexity. Assembling project plans and team assignments, directing and monitoring work of the team on a daily basis identifying resource needs and performing quality review. Will escalate functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately.

• Leads functional business users, developers, business analysts, and key stakeholders to develop project overview statements, business plans and timelines for all ITS supported projects.

• Develops long and short term strategies to set the direction for the organization’s project governance and leadership structure.

• Provides leadership and direction for departmental business analysts to manage and assist with the development, definition, and documentation of system requirements and workflow processes.

• Acts as an internal lead project manager consultant and content expert to advise, assist or influence ITS technical staff and business units through the project management life cycle.

• Lead and coach ITS staff and key business users on project readiness activities and deliverables such as business requirements, communications planning, user testing, business training, project documentation, and process mappings.

• Direct, creates, and maintains the project management portfolio and establishes project and quality control methodologies to ensure compliance using defined performance metrics.

• Responsible for delivering all projects contained in the ITS project portfolio on-time, within budget and ensuring the strategic and business requirements are met.

• Lead the effort to produce and maintain all ITS related documentation as well as policies, procedures, critical IT processes, user manuals, and metrics in order to communicate complex and technical information in clear and simple form.

• Responsible for leading and managing the project management portfolio analysis for Information Technology Services to prioritize projects, and generate project reports, metrics, and timelines that ensure technology alignment with the University’s strategic goals.

• Participate in the development, evaluation, and selection of software required to support the University.

Non-Essential Job Functions of Position

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in the area of math, computers, electronics, or related field. Ten years of experience in an IT environment or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Active Directory, VMWare, Skype for Business, Windows O/S and other Microsoft products including but not limited to SQL, O365, & Office related products.

Licenses, Certifications & Registrations

Must obtain Cisco CCNA or CCNP certification and Microsoft MCSA or MCSE and ISC2 CISSP or EC-Cpouncil CEH certification within 6 months of employment.

Preferred: Advanced certification in networking ( CCNA, CCSP, CCNP, CCIE ), system administration ( MSCA, MCITP, MSCE ) or equivalent.
