Position Summary:
The Division of Student Affairs oversees six units: Dean of Students Office, Counseling & Testing Center, Department of Student Involvement, Recreation and Wellbeing, Student Affairs Operations (including Vandal Health Clinic, Student Health Insurance Program, and the UI Children's Center), and Resident Life programs (In Housing & Residence Life).
The Assistant to the Vice Provost/Dean of Students provides administrative and project management support to the Vice Provost for Student Affairs. The successful incumbent must function independently and be self-directed in managing the needs of the Vice Provost, including managing the Vice Provost's calendar, meeting multiple deadlines, providing strong administrative assistance to ensure the goals of the division are met by identifying problems and recommending solutions through analyzing of information and data, exercising good judgment, being organized and able to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines. The person in this position will at times serve as a liaison for the Vice Provost. Work and information handled is of a nature regularly requiring confidentiality and the exercise of discretion.
This person will be the Affirmative Action Coordinator for the Division of Student Affairs with responsibility for expertise and facilitation of the job search process for all units in the division.

• Bachelor’s Degree;
• High level computer software skills including Banner database experience and PeopleAdmin system;
• Experience with interpreting, applying, and explaining complex information such as regulations, policies, processes, and guidelines;
