The Division of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (AID) in the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington (UW) is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position. This position will be at the Research Professor or Associate Professor level, without tenure for reasons of funding (WOT) and will have research responsibilities. This position will have an annual service period of 12 months [July 1-June 30] and is anticipated to start in March 2021.

Duties of this position will include publishing in the field of translational research involving formulation of vaccines and adjuvants for clinical use in global health settings. Specific areas of focus will include 1) advancement of formulations suitable for alternative routes of delivery to enhance mucosal immunity, 2) enhancing vaccine formulation thermostability, and 3) application of formulation science to enable vaccine development against neglected infectious disease indications as well as pandemic preparedness. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a PhD in Infectious Diseases or a related field (or foreign equivalent), and have evidence of publications, research grant funding, and excellent verbal and written skills. The successful candidate must demonstrate documented expertise in formulation platforms and adjuvants to support vaccine and drug development efforts.
