The College of Health, Education, and Social Welfare at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay invites applicants for a Lecturer position in Social Work. This position will teach primarily in the MSW program at the newly developed Wausau site but may include other teaching responsibilities across the curriculum. The program has a strong team emphasis which includes team teaching, offers a competency-based education with a strength's perspective, and takes a proactive stance valuing diverse and inclusive perspectives.

This position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Teach MSW courses, along with BSW courses, utilizing a variety of teaching and learning methods with diverse adult learners.
  • Advance equity and social justice in the classroom and community.
  • Commit to generalist and advanced generalist social work practice.
  • Independently develop and implement sound teaching lessons from an andragogical perspective.
  • Teach courses primarily in Wausau using both face-to-face and online modalities.
  • Assist with field site procurement and maintenance of agency relationships in the Northeast and Central Wisconsin area.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge, value, and skill base for social work in an understandable and applied manner.
  • Provide academic and career advising to social work students and potential students.
  • Perform service and contribute to the ongoing accreditation efforts of the BSW and MSW Programs.
Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Earned Master's Degree in Social Work from CSWE-accredited program
  • 2 years of post-MSW social work practice experience at time of application
  • Eligible for certification or licensure in the state of Wisconsin

Conditions Of Appointment Office will be located in Wausau, WI. Travel to field, UW-Green Bay, Green Bay Campus, and course sites required. Will include teaching courses on evenings to meet Program needs.

Position is a full-time, 9-month, Instructional Academic Staff appointment with potential for some compensated summer work.  Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s).
