Help us foster a supportive and respecting culture for all of our workforce! We are looking for a leader to serve as Director of Diversity and Inclusion at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).  Headquartered in Gaithersburg, Maryland, NIST is a federal laboratory striving to be the world's leader in creating critical measurement solutions and promoting equitable standards. Our efforts stimulate innovation, foster industrial competitiveness, and improve the quality of life.

This new position will report to the NIST Associate Director for Management Resources. A primary responsibility for the role is the development and implementation of a Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) strategy for NIST that promotes a culture of inclusivity and belonging. The Director of Diversity and Inclusion will use their expert knowledge of diversity and inclusion research, theory, and practice in developing a NIST D&I strategy and will lead and/or support activities including policies and programs related to recruitment, hiring, retention, promotion, training, and outreach. The incumbent works collaboratively with senior leadership, organizational units, and employee resource groups to ensure the NIST D&I strategy is aligned with key organizational priorities and serves as a trusted resource for advice and counsel on matters pertaining to the NIST culture of inclusivity. The incumbent will apply business and management principles involved in strategic planning, human behavior and performance, and coordination of people and resources in their role as a change agent of the organization's culture of inclusivity and belonging.
