Organizational Communication - Assistant Professor

Full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level starting August 15, 2021. The department seeks an energetic and engaging colleague who will contribute instructional excellence and scholarship to our applied, organizational communication curriculum.

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will teach both undergraduate and graduate-level courses that blend communication theory and practice in contemporary organizational contexts. Teaching opportunities are available in communication technology, research methods, health communication, organizational communication, intercultural communication, leadership, interpersonal communication, sports communication, or other applied areas reflecting departmental needs and individual scholarly interests. Duties will include conducting research, advising students, providing service, and delivering instruction in traditional as well as alternative and online formats. Development of new courses is highly encouraged.

Required Qualifications:
Doctorate in Communication or evidence of projected completion date of doctoral degree is required by the date of appointment. An emphasis consistent with our applied communication curriculum is required. Must show evidence of research/publication potential and a strong commitment to service. Evidence of teaching excellence and strong classroom skills at the college level are required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with alternative instructional delivery methods/formats is preferred.
