Position Summary:

The University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks individuals to join our Safer Badgers Program. As part of our overall COVID-19 safety precautions, we are utilizing Badger Wellness Ambassadors at the entrances to many of our campus buildings. This position will serve as a Supervisor to the Badger Wellness Ambassadors.

As a supervisor, you are responsible for the supervision of staff assigned to designated campus buildings. Work involves the direct supervision of a group of Badger Wellness Ambassadors whose role is to ensure university students, employees, and guests are compliant with the campus COVID-19 public health requirements in order to gain access to the building. Badger Wellness Ambassadors will also remind people to wear a face covering, stay physically distanced, and if necessary, refer them to appropriate resources to meet compliance standards.

Work settings may include entrances to buildings that house a variety of administrative, instructional, academic support, research, and student services. The specific buildings that are part of this program are still being finalized.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Required:
- At least one year of experience in a supervisory or lead worker role
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand verbal instructions in English
- Proven experience organizing and managing multiple tasks
- Has demonstrated experience communicating with customers internally and externally
- Can travel to and from campus work locations
- Can write clear and concise reports
- Can use technology, such as a smartphone, laptop and tablet

Preferred:
- Knowledge of provisions on wages, hours worked, use of sick leave and vacation
- Knowledge of policies and procedures for maintaining time and attendance records
- Experience training new employees

Additional Information:

This is a forward-facing, on-site position. Work is expected to last through the spring semester with the possibility of extension through the summer and fall semesters. Shifts will range between 6:00am to 10:00pm daily. Rotating schedules, weekends and holidays may be available. Physical demands include standing and sitting for extended periods of time both indoors and outdoors.
