Position Summary
Addiction research group seeks highly motivated personnel to engage in a multifaceted approach. The main aim of our laboratory is to elucidate the mechanisms by which prenatal ethanol exposure and others teratogenic agents alters the function of serotonin system.
Research will encompass the use of electrophysiological, pharmacological and behavioral approaches in rat model of fetal alcohol spectrum disorders.
Specific duties include:

Research will encompass the use of electrophysiological, pharmacological and behavioral approaches in rat model of fetal alcohol spectrum disorders.
Specific duties include:
- Working with rodents, animal care.
- Running of behavioral and electrophysiological
experiments
- Preparation of brain tissue slices
- Assistance with general laboratory management and maintenance of a safe working research environment.
The candidate should be familiar with computers, and the use of Microsoft Office Software and PowerPoint. The successful candidate will work under the direction of senior research personnel.

Minimum Qualifications
Education related to Life Sciences and at least one year of research experience directly related to Biological Sciences is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences plus research experience in the handling and use of animals and brain slices neurophysiology highly preferred. Experience and/or an interest in electrophysiological methods and experience in small rodent surgical and behavioral methods would be an advantage.
