Assistant Professor of Biology, Tennessee Tech University, Cookeville, Tennessee. Full-time, 9-month, tenure-track appointment to begin August 2021. We seek a vertebrate physiologist with a strong interest in teaching human anatomy and physiology to health science students as well as upper division courses in the candidate’s area of specialization possibly including endocrinology, comparative vertebrate anatomy, vertebrate physiology, developmental biology, or similar. Other essential functions include developing an externally funded research program, advising undergraduate and graduate students, directing thesis research of M.S. and/or Ph.D. level graduate students, and ability to teach online courses if requested by the department. Ph.D. from an accredited institution in an area applicable to vertebrate physiology, potential to develop a funded research program and to serve as advisor to undergraduate and graduate students are required. Preferred qualifications include previous university-level teaching experience and demonstrated record of publications and successful grantsmanship. Research specialty is open and should complement those of current faculty. Applicant must be authorized to work in the United States without the University’s sponsorship.
