Job Summary: The Criminal Justice Program is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will be able to teach courses in one or more of the following areas: introductory criminal justice (policing, corrections, and court systems/law), diversity issues/victimization studies, intelligence/crime analysis, and advanced topics and research methods in the undergraduate program; there is a potential for teaching in the graduate program as well. The successful candidate may be asked to teach courses outside the major in support of the college’s general education program. Full-time faculty appointments are for a ten-month contract period and the normal teaching load is twelve credit hours per semester. Student advisement and participation on college committees are required. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Final appointments are budget dependent.
Requirements/Qualifications: A Master’s degree in
Criminal Justice or a closely related field is required; Ph.D. or
terminal degree preferred. Practical field experience; experience
teaching in higher education; and experience in student
advisement/mentorship preferred.
