Assistant/Associate Professors in Construction Management


The School of Construction Management Technology at Purdue University has three (3) openings for tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor faculty positions beginning in August 2021. The School of Construction Management Technology celebrated 50 years of construction education excellence and Purdue University was recently ranked No. 9 among public institutions by the Wall Street Journal and No. 5 Most Innovative University in America by the US News and World Report. The school of 18 faculty has a vibrant research and teaching culture with about 500 undergraduate students and 100 graduate students offering both an MS in Construction Management Technology and a PhD in Technology through the college.


Minimum qualifications of the positions include: 1) PhD in Construction Management or in a discipline closely related to the construction industry; 2) Record of scholarly publications; 3) Ability to obtain external research grants and effectively conduct research; and 4) Excellent written and oral English communication. Experience in the Architectural/Engineering/Construction (AEC) industry and higher education teaching is highly desirable for this position. The successful applicant is expected to have the expertise and knowledge to teach across a broad range of construction management topics. Potential topics of need include, but are not limited to: commercial construction, surveying, construction layout, structures, statics, soils, safety, design, construction law, risk management, and construction equipment. School of Construction Management Technology uses a team-based, collaborative approach to instruction. A successful candidate for this tenure-track position will be expected to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, establish a substantial externally-funded research program, maintain an active scholarship agenda, and promote the Construction Management programs through national and international engagement.
