Director of the Institute for the Future Education

The Institute for the Future Education presents an exciting opportunity for a new Director to lead one of the most promising and strategic roles in our Institution and in the field. Designing, developing, and conducting the initiative that will continue to strengthen Tec de Monterrey´s global reputation in educational innovation and educational technologies.

The core mission of the Institute is to generate, transfer, and disseminate applicable knowledge about educational innovation, connecting, inspiring, and accompanying those who seek disruptive solutions for the future of higher education and lifelong learning.

To carry out this mission, Tecnologico de Monterrey is committed to the creation of a Research, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship Pole of educational innovation to serve as  one of the major centers of its kind in the world. The Institute for the Future of Education is composed of various Research Groups, an Excellence Research Lab (ERL), a Living Lab & Data Hub (LL&DH), an EdTech incubator and accelerator, an Observatory of Educational Innovation, an International Conference on Educational Innovation, and several other Educational Innovation initiatives.

To achieve the mission and dreams of the Institute, the ideal candidate must be someone who has a well-established conviction to change education in the world. The IFE leader will bring and commit her/his experience, knowledge, network, capacity, and passion for creating innovations that significantly impact the “state of the art” in Education. The candidate must guide the IFE’s initiatives of collaboration in high impact projects with big international consortiums, creating innovative science-based companies that develop with high impact potential, contributing to strengthening Tec de Monterrey´s reputation as a world-class reference in the field.

As the new Director, the ideal candidate will lead and design the IFE strategy, talent attraction,  and will play a key role in attracting national and international grants and funding for the operation of the institute. The Director will also represent Tecnológico de Monterrey in national and international forums (Government, Academic Institutions, International Organizations, Funding Organizations, Companies), contributing to its positioning as a leader in educational innovation, and generating a network of partners that supports its projects.

Qualifications

To carry out these promising and exciting challenges, the ideal candidate must possess strong leadership skills, scientific appreciation and sensitivity, communication and networking skills, a significantly vast network of stakeholders within academia and industry, and the passion for embracing our dream. As the leader of the Institute, our new Director must also be a role model for teamwork, collaboration, and leadership when it comes to coordinate the operation of the research groups and its member’s collaboration.
