Widener University is currently seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice in the College of Arts and Sciences to start fall 2021. This position has a teaching load of 4/3 (12 semester hours/9 semester hours) and involves teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The candidate is also expected to serve as an academic advisor to undergraduate criminal justice majors. The area of specialization is open, but willingness to teach policing and/or research courses is desirable. A candidate with interest in taking on some leadership responsibilities within the department is preferred. The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence in teaching, be expected to pursue an active research agenda, and contribute to campus and professional service.

Qualifications:  Minimum requirements are a commitment to undergraduate education, clear evidence of scholarly potential, and a Ph.D. in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or a closely related discipline. ABD candidates may be considered if the Ph.D. will be completed by August 2021.
