Position Summary:

Under the direction of a Custodial Services Supervisor (CSS) perform the duties as a lead worker by facilitating work performed by custodians and LTE's. Assist the CSS in developing custodial objectives and the tasks required to achieve them. Implement work plans under the direct supervision of the CSS. Check work, assist with training and instruction on the proper cleaning methods and safe operation of all equipment. Remove faulty equipment from service, and make arrangements for repair, order supplies, and perform assigned custodial tasks.

Previous works as custodian or lead custodian and some knowledge of floor care is preferred.

Additional Information:

Ability to speak, read and write in English and to follow written and oral instructions is required.

The first week is mandatory training on 2nd shift for non-Physical Plant employees.

This position may occasionally be asked to work hours in excess of the normal work shift.

This position requires a conviction record check. Because of the nature of this position, applicants will be asked to furnish a signed written record of any conviction or pending criminal charges.

In the event you are required to work in or around animal facilities, you will be enrolled in the appropriate medical surveillance program.

Facilities Planning & Management (FP&M) will require Post-Offer Pre-Employment screenings on all selected candidates.
