Position Summary:

Provide patient care, teaching to a variety of learners, and execution of research/scholarly activities.

Principal Duties:

Provide patient clinical care.

Perform independent research and obtain extramural funding.

Teach to a variety of learners, including medical students, residents and fellows. Teaching can occur within the classroom, small groups and lectures, as well as in the delivery of clinical care.

Participation in department, School of Medicine and Public Health and University meetings and committees is an expectation.

Participation in governance of the department and service to the University and scientific community will also be expected as appropriate to academic rank.

The majority of the position will be devoted to the development/maintenance of an independent research program. Protected time will be provided with an expectation that the candidate will either come with extramural funding or procure it within the first 3 years of employment.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

MD or equivalent, completion of US pediatric residency program and relevant fellowship

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Completion of US pediatric residency program and fellowship programs. Interest in academic medicine, involving teaching to a variety of learners is essential. Experience in an academic medical setting preferred.

License or Certificate:

WI medical licensure, BE/BC in pediatrics required

Having two position vacancy listings allows the School of Medicine and Public Health to consider candidates with both CHS-track faculty credentials and Tenure-track faculty credentials for this position.

Candidates for Associate Professor or Professor rank must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the tenure track.
