Brief Summary of Work for this Position

The Time-Limited Writing Services Coordinator directs educational support activities, including one-on-one, drop-in and online tutoring, through development, implementation, and expansion of Writing Services at the University Learning Center at UNCW .

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Master’s degree in English (composition/rhetoric strongly preferred), English Education, or in a field related to writing education required. Three or more years’ experience in composition teaching, higher education administration, or some combination of the two (or related field) is also required.

Experience gained while pursuing degree(s) is acceptable. Knowledge of theories, models, and practices of learning, especially collaborative learning, is essential.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Previous supervisory experience preferred. Experience within a writing center or tutoring program or a similar college level academic assistance program strongly preferred. PhD in Composition/Rhetoric preferred.
