UC is one of the largest employers in the Cincinnati region, employing over 15,000 full time and part time faculty, staff and student workers. The College of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine (IM), Division of Infectious Diseases is looking for an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine, specializing in transplant infectious diseases. This position will support the University’s mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff and all our activities.

Duties for the Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in IM-Infectious Diseases will include contributing to the clinical/patient care, research and teaching missions of the division. Clinical/patient care responsibilities will include providing both transplant and general infectious disease consultations. The successful candidate will be assigned at least three (3), four-hour outpatient clinics each week and between 14-16 weeks of inpatient or consult service each year at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. The position can include a pro rata amount of on-call coverage, which is not to exceed the inpatient time of 14-16 weeks per year, unless additional compensation is provided according to departmental standards. Duties will also encompass an active role in departmental fellowship programs as well as UC Medical Center (UCMC) resident and UC medical student teaching. Teaching duties will include precepting of UCMC fellows and residents, and UC medical students in office-based practice as well as providing lectures or leading small group discussions as part of the College of Medicine or UCMC residency curriculum, clinical case conferences, and journal clubs. Additional duties will include participating in departmental and/or divisional service meetings and conferences and developing plans for growing the transplant infectious diseases program.

Minimum Qualifications: Prior to effective date of appointment, must have all of the following: an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent); Ohio Medical License; completed 3-year ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency; completed 2-year ACGME-accredited Infectious Diseases fellowship; and, Board Eligibility in Infectious Diseases, defined as completion of aforementioned Infectious Diseases fellowship and Board Certification in Internal Medicine.
