Program Director - Wolverines Elevated

Position Category: Staff - Full-Time

Summary:
The program director, under the direction of the principal investigator, will direct all aspects of the Wolverines Elevated program, a post-secondary education program for young adults with intellectual disabilities. The program director will coordinate person-centered planning and goal setting, plan and teach specialized course content, support career development activities and inclusion in campus life. The program director will work with project staff to develop program components and program evaluation and will hire, train and supervise peer mentors. The Program director will coordinate with campus-based services to meet individual student needs and support faculty.

Required Qualifications:
Masters degree in Special Education, Rehabilitation Counseling or related field.
Minimum 5 years experience supporting transition-aged students with intellectual disabilities. Knowledge and experience in the implementation of person-centered planning. Experience in curriculum development.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and management skills including strategic planning and prioritization.
Skills in program planning, development and implementation. Strong verbal and written communication skills, Strong public presentation skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office


Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in post-secondary education programs for students with intellectual disabilities.


Physical Requirements:
Walking and moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly walking long distances.
Sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
Bending or stooping
Fine hand manipulation such as typing.
