Dean of Workforce and Economic Development

Blue Bell, PA

 

Montgomery County Community College invites applications for the Dean of Workforce and Economic Development position.  The Division of Workforce and Economic Development provides education and talent development through federal, state, local, and privately funded/contract training programs, as well as adult education, lifelong learning, and youth programs.  The Dean provides strategic leadership and direction to the College’s effort to maximize and develop contract, noncredit, and continuing professional education that responds to workforce needs. The Dean manages the College’s Workforce Development initiatives, including building and maintaining relationships with local employers, government and non-profit agencies, and economic development organizations. The Dean is an important liaison for the College with business and industry partners, private funders, government officials, grant agencies, university leaders and K-12 educators. As a member of the VPAA’s leadership team, the dean acts to further the institution’s goals towards diversity, equity, and inclusion. This position has college-wide responsibilities that require travel between campuses and to offsite locations.

 

This position requires the candidate to obtain the PA Child Abuse, PA State Police, and FBI Fingerprinting clearances prior to their start date. 

Following Governor Wolf's announcement on March 30, the selected candidate will work remotely until further notice.  As the College re-opens the campuses, the selected candidate will transition to on-campus work. This position has college-wide responsibilities that require travel between campuses and to offsite locations. The primary office location is the Blue Bell campus.  

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline; master’s degree preferred.
  • Five (5) years of management experience, workforce development or sales experience.
  • Three (3) years of teaching or training experience and/or continuing education program management preferred.
  • Excellent management, administrative, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Data management and analysis abilities with demonstrated abilities to apply quantitative and qualitative reasoning to assessment, planning, management, and communications tasks.
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Word applications and other productivity, communication, and presentation tools.
  • Knowledge of and experience with a range of training delivery modalities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Experience in grant and philanthropic acquisition, management, and reporting preferred.
