Job Description:

This is a part-time, nine-month, annually renewable position that follows the academic calendar. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, a solid understanding of college age development, and prevalent mental health issues which can hinder a student's academic success. This candidate will be a self-starter, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and have enthusiasm for program development as well as ability to work collaboratively in a work environment.

Providing solution focused individual counseling, group support, emotional wellbeing workshops, crisis intervention and assessment, follow through with record keeping/case management and other duties assigned by the Director of Counseling Services. This position will offer in-person and tele-health appointments for students and includes serving as part of an on-call, after-hours, rotation (weekly, 1-2 times per month). The on-call clinician provides phone consultation for administrators on-call, the role does not require in person response.

In addition to the above responsibilities, this individual will develop and assist with wellness initiatives, outreach and prevention education programs associated with the Counseling Services Office.

Requirements:

  • An earned Master's Degree from an accredited program in Mental Health Counseling, and/or Social Work, current Massachusetts State Licensure (e.g., LMHC, LICSW);
  • A minimum of 2-3 years clinical experience, preferably working in a college counseling center or related work with college age students;
  • Experience working with a diverse population, including students with learning challenges.
