The Department of Counseling and Human Development Services in the College of Education at The University of Georgia seeks highly qualified candidates to fill a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the College Student Affairs Administration and Student Affairs Leadership programs (Ph.D., M.Ed., and Ed.D.) to begin August 2021. Salary is competitive and includes an excellent benefit package. To ensure full consideration, applications must be received by December 24, 2020.
Responsibilities of this position includes:
• Teach courses in College Student Affairs Administration Ph.D. and
M.Ed. programs and Student Affairs Leadership Ed.D. program
• Advise students and direct student research
• Engage in research, grant-writing, publication, and other scholarly
• Collaborate with departmental and program faculty in academic
program review, evaluation, and development
• Earned doctorate in College Student Affairs Administration, Higher
Education, or related field
• At least one academic year of teaching experience at the graduate
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification
• At least one year of relevant and significant professional experience in
student affairs/ higher education administration
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
• Ability to teach student affairs courses as outlined in the CAS master’s
level preparation program curriculum standards and similar content at
the doctoral level
• Evidence of research competence and potential for developing a
sustainable program of research with promise of external funding
• Teaching and research interests related to student affairs
administration and/or college student experiences and outcomes
• Willingness to work with colleagues in a positive, team-oriented
environment embracing social justice, equity, and inclusion
emphases, strong supervision of graduate students, and the scholar-
• Strong record of published research
• Strong record of professional service and involvement
• Expertise in quantitative research
