Job Description:

The Department of Secondary Education and Educational Technology at the State University of New York College at Oneonta invites applications for a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor of Educational Technology beginning Fall 2021. Expectations include, but are not limited to, teaching, research, student advisement, college service, and continuing professional development.

The Professional Education Unit is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. The Unit's Department of Secondary Education and Educational Technology currently has nine undergraduate programs and offers a graduate program in Educational Technology. Duties include but not limited to: teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in educational technology; teaching undergraduate education courses and other courses to meet department needs; early field supervision and clinical supervision of student teachers; teaching courses in Educational Technology Specialist Master's program ( click here for information about the program); maintaining an active publishing and research agenda; service to the college and community; and advisement of students.


Requirements:

Required qualifications: PhD or EdD from an accredited institution in Educational Technology or related area (ABD considered - terminal degree must be completed by first renewal notification); teaching certification in elementary or secondary content; minimum of three years teaching experience in grades K-12.

Preferred: ability to teach a social studies methods course to undergraduates majoring in adolescence social studies education; experience with supervision of pre-service/in-service teachers; college-level teaching experience; research record/agenda suitable for rank; experience with teaching technology integration; experience with online teaching; experience working with diverse populations and/or teaching pedagogies and/or multicultural teaching experience.
