The Communication Division at the Seaver College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences at Pepperdine University invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the assistant professor rank in Communication Studies. Seaver College is a residential liberal arts college of approximately 3,400 students situated in Malibu, California.

The successful candidate will teach courses in communication ethics, mixed research methods, conflict and negotiation, and intercultural or interpersonal communication, as well as additional courses in their area of research in the Communication Studies program. We seek a colleague who will contribute to the student's whole person, and particularly their awareness of the interconnectedness between self, others, and calling; understanding of communication systems to foster justice; skills for analyzing, evaluating, and interpreting messages; ability to communicate competently across differences and contexts; and their ability to engage in ethical dialogue.

An established record of strong research is highly desirable. Experience with institutional assessment and curriculum development is preferable. A Ph.D. in communication is required; the successful candidate will possess a Ph.D. by August 1, 2021 when the position officially begins.
