Job Description
This position will be housed in Halifax, Virginia and will cover counties/cities in Central District.
This position will help to expand Extension’s role in addressing the opioid crisis in Virginia by supporting community coalitions and partners and by working directly with youth and their families in partnership with local schools and mental health service providers (community services boards) to foster positive lifestyle choices related substance misuse and addiction.
Required Qualifications
Four-year college degree.
Experience working with communities and stakeholders in community-based projects.
Education or training related to prevention of substance use disorder.
Experience related to substance misuse and addiction.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior training to deliver Botvin Life Skills and Mental Health First Aid programs.
Experience working in public schools, particularly teaching.
Experience in leading programs for youth.
Experience in project management.
Experience in data collection and management for grant-funded projects.
